Nikka he JUST dropped a song with Snoop a few weeks ago. He just dropped a track with Gunna.
This nikka has worked with artists from coast to coast young and old, his work ethic and networking is one of his strongest aspects as an artist. The only way he gonna expand is by dropping a hit record period.
This one track, that's good. and he damn dropped whole tape with Vado.
If East was a local level rapper I'd be impressed with this enough. But he's got major label backing and people see him as a potential superstar. I hold him on a higher standard than one Snoop feature. Snoop collabs with the most random rappers. At this point for East, it does nothing to grow his fanbase that his collabs with Nippsey, Breezy and Nas haven't done already. I already said East got a NAME, he needs to grow a FOLLOWING–which has stagnated.
It's nuances to this shyt, I've made my points already. It's a nice song tho. He should continue to grow his fanbase, hence why I think meaningful collabs are important. Particularly with new popping rappers in different regions from the ground level. The Snoops and Raekwons can only bring you to a point by giving you a look.
Edit: Let me put it this way. How many tracks he dropped with Vado this year? Like 15? Now replace Vado with Shy Glizzy and Q Da Fool. That's the type of shyt I'm talking about. Not just 1 song with Shy or Snoop, but 15. It shouldn't be Vado and the lame brothers who get 15 tracks with East each. If I'm a Shy or Q fan, I'm listening to all 15 of those tracks not just 1. Now Shy/Q fans is your fans. And Vado? He don't even have the fans, so you could drop 50 tracks with him and its as good as dropping only 1 track. I also feel Dark Lo and Joe Blow from the Bay Area got styles that would mesh with East very well, an EP with either of them would be much more productive than an LP with Vado.
