vado should've never left cam.

signing with Khaled was career suicide.

Cam wasn't gonna do shyt else for him though. Vado at some point needed to figure it out for himself.
Everyone could see that signing to Khaled was a bad idea except Vado

But yeah he should've just done his own thing. He left Cam at the right time but leaving him to be under someone else didn't make sense

yea its crazy.

what gets me is that Khaled is a DJ with power.

vado should've BEEN on the radio.

Khaled is the most visible DJ ever, and none of his artists are getting any type of shine whatsoever. this dude is literally everywhere and I'm not sure why, but since he has that exposure, he should be spreading it around.

He would have flopped either way. Neither was gonna do anything for his career, especially not Cam.

What artist they signed has any of the Dipset members ever put on? None.

Khaled seemed the more logical option of the two, cuz he at least poppin. He just doesn't care to push you that much. But you gotta do the work on his own, and Vado failed in that regard. He doesn't have the appeal of a Dave East.

Khaled put Vado on tracks with Ross and French and big names. shyt never caught on because Vado ain't marketable, nor does he market himself which is most important.

He should've just signed himself or gone to a major in NY.

But you right, he didn't have half the work ethic of Dave East. Vado doesn't even have his own YouTube page till this day

Glad you take note of stuff like that. There's so many artists I fukk wit that either don't have their own YT page, or their cover art sucks, or they keep forgetting their password(?) and keep making new youtube or soundcloud page when the goal should be collecting subscribers and making it easy to follow you.
I fuk wit AR AB but he got those last two problems. I fukk wit French and he kinda got the first problem, always used to post shyt on worldstar where they'd get forgotten after a week, and only posted his most pop records on his Vevo so they got all the views and now he making all pop-ish music [because of their success], and his cover tracklistings full of spelling mistakes and missing producer credits.

Dave East problem to me feels like he went from collabing with Nas, Raekwon, Beanie to collabing with any random nikka he finds in Harlem bodegas. He's literally going backwards this year. If he wants to keep it street then why not collab with rappers poppin in other states, not lames who not even poppin in their own city... whether that's Vado, Neek Bucks, King Shooter or whatever lame I never heard of before.

You right, Vado should have just kept working on himself. When you attach yourself with bigger rappers but don't put the work in to make yourself distinguishable, nobody remembers you. You become a weed carrier in people's eyes. Then everyone will pretend to give af only when you're dead, like Chinx for example.

I personally don't want a collab tape between Vado and Dave East, I would prefer if East dropped a collab tape with Don Q. But, overall I disagree with your statement I would rather have East work with young artists like Neek Bucks rather than a :flabbynsick: whisper collapsed lung voiced Beanie or a damn near 50 year old Raekwon.

Neek is on the come up and is one of the nicest young spitters in the city. He got co-signs from the likes of Jim Jones, Meek, YFN Lucci. I wouldn't call him a random nikka from a Harlem bodega :comeon:

Kiing Shooter is part of East entourage, son from Queensbridge. East started his own label imprint From The Dirt and Shooter is on it along with Joey Fatts from LA and some other people. I like Shooter's cadence and think he has some potential. East has enough songs with OG's.

You're looking at this completely wrong. Raekwon and Beanie gave East a LOOK, the same way collabing with Breezy and Nas did. It's a way to expand his fanbase to folk who never seen or cared for him before.

When East collabs with these no names, he giving them a LOOK. Nothing wrong with that.... but not if that's all he collabing with. There's levels to this shyt bruh. :birdman:

For East himself, these local artists don't do anything to expand his fanbase. He should be collabing with rappers poppin in other states: Bay Area, Philly, DMV, Atl, etc. That's how you expand your fanbase, its a tried and true formula that's worked for ages and is part of hip hop. He already got the NAME (que reasons in first line), now its time to grow the following. He's not doing that, he's stuck in the same damn spot and to an extent going backwards.

He can collab with the local no names while also collabing with people poppin in other markets, but if all he doing is collabing with people who ain't popping in their own city. Soon he's going to establish himself as a local level rapper who has no nationwide appeal. "You are defined by the company that you keep"...He'll turn into one of them underground artists that nobody gives a fukk about except a small core following. Eventually even blogs and worldstar won't post your stuff like they used to.

I work in music so I see what really goes on to make artists work. Consistency plays a major key and who you have on your team. Vado looks like he doesn't have anyone digitally savvy around him to make sure his presence online is there.

I hear you about Dave East but he just got 2 songs with Snoop. It looks to me that he realises his lane and he's happy to be the new version of a Styles P. Not everyone is gonna be a superstar and why force it if it hasn't worked?

The rap career isn't as easy as people think so I appreciate artists that make it so far. It's clear as day to me that Vado is fukking lazy and that's why Dave East got to a higher level. Dave might not be getting plaques like A Boogie but he dropped like 3 tapes in the past 12 months. Vado don't even put his shyt on Spotify

You're right. That might be what East subconsciously wants to do. Be a local level rapper. His label Def Jam probably sees him as a national level star. Styles P is independent, so he can do what he want and people won't question him for it. He's not playing with anyone's money and promotional resources and owes a return to.

Nah. East has collabed with artists from all over the place breh you're not paying attention. East is branding himself an international hood nikka and is always on IG posting in the trenches of other cities.

Philly is East's biggest market outside of NY. He has family ties out there. Collaborated with Beanie and Meek, dropped an EP with Kur, has filmed several videos in North Philly too.

DMV is one of East's biggest markets outside of NY too from his time playing ball down there. He got songs with Shy Glizzy, Fat Trel, and Wale.

East been out in Cali a lot lately and he fukks with the Crips out there. He just signed Vince Staples cousin who A$AP Yams A&R'd, Joey Fatts from Long Beach to his label. Has worked with Nipsey Hussle, Snoop, Mozzy, Paloma Ford over the last year. He did the video for 30 Nikkas out there.

In Chicago he fukks with G-Herbo and Lil Bibby. He's on tracks with both and was just out there. He just dropped a track with Gunna from Atlanta and Tip was on Paranoia 2. He just had Wiz, French, Tory Lanez on the Paranoia tapes. East working with everybody not just local Harlem rappers.

It's good that East is reaching out and doing tracks with local rappers and up and comers. That's what Atlanta nikkas do. East problem is he can't make a hit and he picks the wrong songs to push IMO.

nikka stop reposting videos, I seen all these videos. And I know he got family ties in Philly.

Which is why I specifically called these markets out. I know he got fans in DMV and Philly, I know he could expand to Bay Area and West Coast.

I even know he went to college in Maryland for a bit. He should be collabing with Q Da Fool and Dark Lo/AB on some akh shyt, feel me.

You pointing out collabs he did last year, I'm talking about what he should be doing this year....Rerread what I wrote he's "going backwards this year". Stay expanding. Who tf is Bibby? That nikka less relevant than Vado. If you was fukking with Dave, you'd be wanting the same instead of only looking at what's already done and being satisfied with it. I only scrutinize nikkas I want to see win.

Def Jam should've put money behind Manuever with French

I think the same, that song could have used a video. Something with them two in a car together, with the reflection of the outside lights on the window and on their shades as they driving with shades on. Interlaced with scenes with "exotic" chicks in a club and on a parked NYC street with the car in the backdrop. All night time.

Could have been a nice joint for a whip when you driving.

Nikka he JUST dropped a song with Snoop a few weeks ago. He just dropped a track with Gunna.

This nikka has worked with artists from coast to coast young and old, his work ethic and networking is one of his strongest aspects as an artist. The only way he gonna expand is by dropping a hit record period.
