Wanted to like the album just cause Cole is a standup dude... Actually respect him on a personal level more than probably 95% of all rappers.. But the album was a chore to get through.. Coles rapping, as nondescript as it may be at times, wasn't the main problem for me though... It's the tone musically and the sing song hooks that make the shyt sound like a after school special or something ... I'd say it bored me, but that seems to off limits.. I tend to like his features more than his albums

thats your opinion, but feel his passion on all type of songs from him, and what other type of song will a artist like j cole push to the radio, he not making no turn up songs, thats not his lane at all. and crooked smile isnt about women, its about anybody being comfortable with your flaws, like he feels his fukked up teeth is one of his flaws

it had 3 verses tho, 1/3rd of a song doesnt make the song about women, regardless of how u feel about the rest of the songs. and aint no song getting any promotion to be on the radio unless is about women or turning up, the slight songs might slip thru the cracks like "swimming pools" that have a sub message that most of the people who bumping dont catch or dont care to catch, but it still can be played as a turn up son
