Literally only to have its name involved and to counter China. America has been beefing with Angola forever because it sided with the Soviets. Now Biden is zombie shuffling over there to talk about slavery and a promise to work with them.

What a fukking joke. America can't connect its own cities but is interested in connecting whole countries in Africa.

thats the thing we can't connect cities because of special interest from auto manufacturers, big oil, and airlines. this is why when america went nation building they advocated universal healthcare.

when special capital interests aren't involved the U.S usually makes good foreign policy and domestic decisions

How about actually focusing on making sure we have competent and affordable national railroad system in the U.S.? Amtrak pretty much makes no sense financially to most Americans. $210 to go from NYC to Miami on a 28 hour trip. I found plane tickets as cheap as $75 with the average low to mid hundreds. Why would anyone take Amtrak? Let's hope the $66 billion allocated leads to some real improvements.

Which is why everyone is balking at this. There's no proof of concept or reference project.

Why would you let a surgeon operate on you if he's only been in the OR a few times, 50 years ago.

America used something like 900,000 tons of concrete in the same time China used 12,000,000. We suck at infrastructure, so why the fukk would anyone trust us on it. :skip:

This is coming from someone who works in this field.
