The military is much weaker than people realize at this point. China specifically has the manpower and the ingenuity to cause the U.S. big problems.

The strategy now is the spread the U.S. military thin because it can't protect the whole planet. Europe will not want to get into a direct war with Russia and China, so that support is not going to be there.

You really our here thinking the us military is out here protecting the whole planet? you gotta reconcile the fact the government has sent them out on their own self interest.

@Chrishaune , its also worth noting that that strategy of stretching this country out failed horribly the last time it was attempted in the 1940s. America Literally fought two seperate wars on different halves of the planet successfully for nearly half a decade. Industry is key here. The industrial might of this nation is like a sleeping dragon. GMC and GE could turn Detroit and Pittsburg back on at any moment to mail aircraft carriers to China's front door. The united states could realistically play planetary super police if it wanted to, its just not profitable to do so at the moment. Id compare us to a modern mike tyson thats in retirement but could still knock you out if he felt like it.


Even worse for china is the fact that the western euro nations and their former colonies will move together like voltron against china. As a former brittish colony and historical antagonist of China, India alone would be a difficult task for China , let alone the rest of the english speaking world. This also says nothing of the US defacto colonies of Japan and Korea.
