more Indians and Pakistanis have died peacekeeping in Africa than Americans have. While Americans were dropping cruise missiles on Libya and not letting airports operate for decades, who was doing surgery in Libyan hospitals? Indians. Who was teaching Libyan kids? Indians. Feel free to imagine you're the moral force in the world though.

My point is just that thinking anyone living under a dictatorship is asking for a western invasion is a fantasy. This is an undeniable fact and I shouldn't even have to argue it. You want to keep changing the point for some reason.

The world expects everything from America and when it's can be seen as America having other goals or interests in actions it's condemned(whether its the case or not). When there are missteps America takes the blame right or wrong. If America takes action its a pariah if it does nothing we're being selfish. The US has two hands tied behind its back every second of everyday. Who else plays by those rules? No one. I am a humanist. If you're going to be a hegemon don't whine about it. Don't act like the US is running a popularity contest on its military interventions--they are products of washington, dc thinking. There are a ton of UN resolutions about things you could follow if you wanted to win the world's favor when it comes to your military action

Christopher Stevens was an Arabist who loved Islam. He sided with the rebels against Khaddafi. He went to Berkeley. I think it is fair to say that he was no fan of Israel or the Jews. I shed no tears for someone like him. He is the sort of person that was a propagandizer for the Arab/Islamic world, and had tried to lull Americans into a passive state vis a vis the Islamic threat.
