I don't understand why Vince keeps trying to reinvent the wheel on commentary and turn these guys into advertising puppets/ three ring circus. It has degraded so much... I don't remember the last time we had a memorable call.

I know it's been a lost cause for a long time, but it doesn't stop it being frustrating.
I'm smark as smark gets and LOVE good heels, but I wouldn't have cheered for '91 Sgt Slaughter or '99 Mr McMahon any more than I'd show up to cheer on Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.
A good heel should make a smark love the wrestler and hate the character, hate is practically essential for good heel work... they NEED boos or what are they? Failures. You think Sasha wants to hear "THANK YOU SASHA" when she's trying her hardest to piss everyone off? You think she sees it as a mark of respect when the mom's-basement crowd react to her heel work with cheers?
She got plenty of boos in NXT as a heel and she lapped them up... made Izzy famous by making her cry for the culture along the way too... that crowd is 100% smark. It's not smarks that are the problem, it's boredom. NXT, AEW, LU crowds are all more smark-heavy than Raw/Smackdown, but they will ALL still boo a heel if they're heeling properly because they're engaged in the booking and storylines. Problem is with RAW/Smackdown is the crowds are so fukking *bored* that heel/face doesn't even register properly anymore. They just see "entertaining/not-entertaining". They cheer when anyone pulls them out of their coma for 10 seconds.

It’s amazing to watch Corey continue to deteriorate as an announcer, he was nothing like this in NXT. In addition to being an inconsistent heel announcer, he won’t shut the fukk up for 10 seconds, he nearly ruined the turn because he was yelling trying to get his point across.
Returns always get big pops. We'll see what reactions Sasha gets next week. Sasha looked like a million bucks on monday especially after the time off.
Toronto doesn't love the harts/neidharts like calgary does.
I doubt that it is one of those can't take it and more for the people who love it when it feels real. It does establish Sasha as a worthy opponent.

I guess I hadn't really noticed since I don't watch TV and sometimes skip the PPVs as well, but Corey was fukking unbearable at Summerslam. Literally from the intro to the show, he was immediately yelling and arguing over absolutely nothing because no one else had even said anything yet, then never shut the fukk up the rest of the show. You can tell it's a Vince directive because it's almost exactly like the heel Michael Cole run where he would ruin shows to get his "character" over and that was more important than relaying anything going on in the ring or on screen. Just constantly argue, constantly yell, always be stirring the shyt, always be contrarian no matter what, just yell and yell and yell. The dynamic between Corey and Renee isn't fun, it's uncomfortable, and I'm kind of surprised it flies in this Be A Star/MeToo era because it comes off like he's just bullying the shyt out of her because she's a dumb woman most of the time. There's a similar dynamic with Byron, but Byron often tees Corey up to dunk on him, where as Corey will just randomly say nasty personal shyt to Renee that has nothing to do with anything going on on the reg.
You know Vince loves this shyt and would prefer there to be 3 Coreys at the table arguing with each other for entire shows.
