That's a really good point and I thought about it the other day, but why did they stop the whole "we'll defend these belts on ANY show" thing for the women's tag belts? Didn't Sasha and Bayley make that a big deal about their reign? It's pretty similar to the Wildcard rule, in that they could appear on any show ... only they wanted to do it first.

Then they lose the belts, break up the team of Bayley and Sasha (as well as the Sky Pirates), and did nothing to elevate the belts or anyone that could have been involved. I see why she got pissed. This company isn't trying to do anything important with the talent or the championships. I also wonder how approved Sasha and Bayley's appearance at NXT was looking back at it, and if Vince just soured on the idea all together after seeing that. Because since then the whole division has been in a stand still. The guy even decides to put the championships on a comedic tag team that loses all the time. The belts are garbage now and both Bayley and Sasha have nothing to do. Terrible booking all around.

:hhh:

They threw the belts to the bushes for the women's MITB. Because they can't focus on more than 2 storylines for the women at a time :mjlol:

My Own 🌍
It’s been a month and a half since WrestleMania, and the rift between Sasha Banks and WWE management does not seem to have healed. As you’ll recall, after a couple of days of canceled events and ominous tweets, reports came out that Sasha had tried to quit WWE during WrestleMania. The initial assumption was that she was upset about how quickly she and Bayley were made to drop the Women’s Tag Team Championships to the IIconics, but later accounts from various sources revealed that this was also when she and Bayley found out that WWE was splitting them up, meaning they wouldn’t even get a chance to chase those titles or have a rematch. Since then, Bayley has found her greatest in-ring success in years, while Sasha has simply been absent.

Now according to PWInsider, Sasha Banks was seen in New York City this week to work with WWE. Apparently she was there to do something for WWE 2K20, the next WWE video game, which will presumably come out later this year. That’s not the same thing as working a wrestling show, nor does it necessarily mean she’ll be back on WWE TV anytime soon, but it does mean that she’s still in open communication with the company, maintaining her professional ties, and living up to at least some of her contractual obligations. We’ll have to wait and see if there’s more news coming on whether or not we’ll get to watch her wrestle for WWE in the near future.

she's gonna come back :yeshrug: you can tell she easing up now

Rumor:

-- While she remains away from WWE TV indefinitely, Sasha Banks and Vince McMahon had a meeting on May 23, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. While nothing is official on when Banks might return, things are said to be "better" and it was noted that she could be back by the summer.

-- Banks has been off of TV and not traveling with the rest of the roster since WrestleMania when she and Bayley dropped the women's tag team titles. Reports at the time varied on why she "walked out" with frustration at the creative direction of her character and unhappiness at losing the titles so quickly at the top of the list.
