I was watching a podcast on YouTube yesterday and someone whose close with wrestlers in the E said that Vince heard that the buyrates for the Australia show were through the roof right before the tag match at Mania. Right then and there he then made the decision to give the belts to the IIconics.

Alexa outside of the wrestlemania main eventers she is the most important woman on the roster in vince's eyes. They bend over backwards to keep on tv even though she rarely wrestles or is injured.

Outside of the Australian show where they were the hometown heroes they've been getting zero crowd reactions. So that doesn't apply in this instance.

whats up with the Iconics and the women's tag team belts
i stopped watching recently but by most accounts Sasha & Bayley wanted to bring legitmacy to the titles, defend everywhere and make them matter. Losing the belts without any reason or rationale seems to have been the last straw

but they lose to the Iconics for what purpose again?
what was the point of Bayley & Sasha showing up on NXT?
have the titles been defended since Sasha & Bayley dropped them?

i am a sasha fan but her most strident critics must agree that she has been poorly used and suffers more than almost anyone on the roster from starts/stops, inconsistent storytelling or being completely forgoten

That's a really good point and I thought about it the other day, but why did they stop the whole "we'll defend these belts on ANY show" thing for the women's tag belts? Didn't Sasha and Bayley make that a big deal about their reign? It's pretty similar to the Wildcard rule, in that they could appear on any show ... only they wanted to do it first.


Then they lose the belts, break up the team of Bayley and Sasha (as well as the Sky Pirates), and did nothing to elevate the belts or anyone that could have been involved. I see why she got pissed. This company isn't trying to do anything important with the talent or the championships. I also wonder how approved Sasha and Bayley's appearance at NXT was looking back at it, and if Vince just soured on the idea all together after seeing that. Because since then the whole division has been in a stand still. The guy even decides to put the championships on a comedic tag team that loses all the time. The belts are garbage now and both Bayley and Sasha have nothing to do. Terrible booking all around.
