That's what gives it away. All on air personalities are essentially forbidden to say anything that might remotely reference that it's a wrestling show.

To the point where when someone mentions that they're a wrestler in a promo, it's seen as some OH shyt moment.

Obviously none of us will ever know for certain, but it always feels like a case where Vince is certain that he's a genius level promoter of all things, and at this point, is frustrated that he's always going to be seen as the wrestling guy, causing resentment for it.

Sports entertainer/sports entertainment came about as a way to get around athletic commissions treating pro wrestling like an actual sport. It was also used before Vince and by many other promoters and companies even up to today. Not that I don't think Vince is embarrassed that pro wrestling is his legacy or anything, but specifically sports entertainment and not calling it "wrestling" isn't really part of that.

More power to her. These so called fans want her to be complacent and just accept whatever wwe throws at her. Im convinced black women have it the hardest in the wrestling biz. They're constantly overlooked for blonde hair white women, and the disrespect from clowns online has no bounds

Why is it ok for luke harper, dana, becky, dolph, lana, rusev, and everyone else to publicly express their frustrations with the comp, but naomi and Sasha do it it's a problem? Why are they berated and labeled as ungrateful, selfish, and problematic? Meanwhile their white counterparts are seen as passionate and yearning for more. There's a pattern here.

In what way?

I don't know what merits or accolades are being discussed but Dolph sells a fraction of the merch that she does and even if u look at social she has more of a following 4 million followers to Ziggler's 2.9 million.

I don't know how this turned into a thread about Dolph, if people feel he's unfairly treated, okay..cool? who is arguing he is fairly treated? :manny:

Exactly. Lana was just criticizing fans a few days ago, and people were rocking with her. Sasha is held to standards that everyone else is exempt from. The hate she gets is ridiculous

Not to discredit Dolph's achievements but with Sasha we are talking about a performer who with Bayley tore the house down at the first ever NXT Brooklyn and showed that female wrestling can be viable at the top of the card and then they main evented the following Takeover showing that females can headline a card.

That eventually led to Sasha and Charlotte headlining a Hell in a Cell PPV and it was another sold out card.

Charlotte and Sasha then had another match on RAW that main evented and it was over 3 million viewers for the 3rd hour, a number that they would kill for today.

Kinda odd to question her accomplishments

There was another wrestling forum I used to go on all the time, but I stopped going after a few years. TSC was a major contributor in that, and after going back there recently just to see the posts about certain issues, it's for the best that I keep doing what I've been doing.

What you said is exactly how the Sasha thread played out on the other forum. Me and a few other people were on her side, but the majority of the comments were vicious with the criticism. A lot of them were talking about her bad attitude, how she should be more grateful for all the opportunities she's gotten, and how she acts like a child when she doesn't get her way. I made an allusion to sexism and racism fueling the comments and they went nuts. You could see how furious they were that someone would ever insinuate that. :russ:

"Saying it's racist and sexist is a copout. It's pathetic and that's why nobody can discuss anything anymore."

"We don't criticize Sasha because she's a woman of color. We criticize her because she acts entitled and doesn't appreciate all the opportunities she's been given. It's a fake sport, you do what's asked of you."

"I don't like how she treats fans. She's always complaining about something. Luke Harper handled leaving with class, and he's been given almost none of the opportunities that Sasha has."

Reddit was more supportive of her than that forum. :mjlol:

EDIT: They locked the thread. Said it was all fun and games until someone pulled out the race card. :dead:

^truth @Mike the Executioner

bottom line here is Sasha had a lot to do with changing the perception of women's wrestling in the U.S. She was depushed about two years ago now while other acts were shoved down people's throats and Sasha still has more of a social media following than them. That says that she is marketable and WWE is dropping the ball. It's inarguable that they are misusing her. :manny:

In what way?

She sold out Barclays Center purely from her work on the WWE Network. This occurred before All In or the G1 Supercard. A wrestling company sold out a building of that size purely from internet promotion, which was a testament to the star power of the main event and the mainstream attraction of Sasha Banks. Her popularity rivaled the current rise of Becky Lynch. Her not being booked like Becky doesn’t mean this doesn’t apply. Hell in a Cell 2016 sold out in Boston showing how big she was in her hometown and how strong she was as a heroic character. The peak of Dolph Ziggler was main eventing a ppv in a ladder match vs Cena and working a house show loop on top with him. He’s not close.

This is exactly the revisionist history bullshyt I'm talking about.

Dolph literally had three of the biggest moments of the modern era (his MitB cash in, Survivor Series 2014, No Mercy 2016) and he was over AF every single time, and all three of those times, WWE fukked it up and squandered his momentum.

Sound familiar?
