I know you're trying to fit Nas into your scenerio that Jayz is signing all those he beefed with as some sort of boss move but I assure you Nas does not fit into your narrative. During the time LA Reid reached out to Nas to bring his talent to the label Jayz was nothing more than a long term artist and a short term employee at Def Jam and his signature was NEVER needed or implemented when it concerned Nasir Jones. To quote Jayz, "Nas and I really have a good relationship." They used their individual dealings at Def Jam to build a partnership and both moved on to bigger and better ventures outside of Def Jam.
