After 10 unsuccessful attempts, you have to hook up to itunes..now the problem is, when i plug the phone up, my mac recognizes the phone, but itunes doesn't. Then i turned off the phone, put in recovery mode..synced back to computer, then the comp said "your mac is downloading necessary software to restore phone"..30 minutes later..no download, no "time remaining on dowload" no nothing. Its like my computer said fukk me too.

You have to put it into recovery mode for the computer to recognize it. These are the instructions.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also if you wanna see the progress of the download/update theres a spinning wheel on the top right corner of iTunes to click on close to the search menu.

No one trusts the cloud until they realize how secure it is. :lolbron:

I'm a former Apple employee sorry I'm just getting a kick out of this.

Itunes doesn't even recognize the phone when i plugged it in. Thats why i had to put it in recovery mode just so the mac in general could recognize it. It was then, that the mac recognizes it and said it was dow loading the necessary files to restore...problem is, the comp never did.

Did you press that spinning wheel icon i told you about?

Also you should be able to try to sign into icloud.com to see what you have in the cloud right now. If it pulls up 2 factor authentication put your sim card in a different phone to get the code

I have insurance on the phone, but it looks like im going to have to have a specialist look at it. My wife is devastated because we have memorable pictures of friends and family that we can't get back, and she doesn't trust the cloud. I guess its just a lesson learned. Damn i wish there was another way. I've literally exhausted all resources
How did you forget the password?
Why don't you regular back up your phone?

You can... by using your fingerprint....password... means that people who purchase a phone use.
Every now and then the iPhone will demand you enter a pin. At that point the fingerprint scanner won't work until you enter the pin.

So i took it to the iphone repair shop, and had tbem reset it. Cost me 10 bucks, and not ALL but a good majority of memories are gone. My wife isn't as upset as she was yesterday. So i ask the guy at the store why itunes didn't recognize the iphone and he explained to me that my after market charger is the issue and i should've had a factory charger. I didn't think it mattered but ok lol and I've also purchased 200 gigs of cloud storage now.
