The most puzzling thing about this movie is why they chose to name it on the game. Sounds like they have a good horror movie on their hands they could have named it something else and still cooked. It’s not even like the Until dawn IP has a massive following who they wanted to appeal to.

Ii mean, really who cares? It’s not like Until Dawn has some deep rich lore they’re betraying. The second game could be completely different from the first and it could also still be until dawn as long as you’re deciding who lives and dies.

people get too caught up in the semantics of shyt thats really just silly horror tropes at the end of the day. It’s not like anyones gonna watch this movie, rush out to play the game and be disappointed it has a different story.

By all accounts it’s a good movie so doesn’t need the association and they haven’t really followed plot points. It’s not a disservice, it increases the brand of the IP which is why they are making these movie adaptations. Who knows if this movie gets funded otherwise if its just called “6 til Sunrise” or Something.

Until dawn was pretty popular before, during, and after its release. This wasn’t some obscure Japanese, anime girl, action rpg. shyt was actually talked about. Name recognition works. From the sounds of it, the movie and game are doing each other justice.
