Exactly. I will use another similar example from a not so distant past : the voting patterns of German jews during the weimar republic (1918-1933) before the nazi era.
The vast majority of the German Jews who were old enough to vote all supported the left-wing and centrist parties (the social democrats, the centrists, socialists) regardless of their education level or their socio-economic background. Regardless of class, they never voted for the right wing parties in German elections. Even the most powerful, influential and wealthy Jews refused to vote for right-wing parties. Why?
( Btw most born and raised German Jews were educated and were firmly upper middle class and middle class. Immigrant Jews from Poland were less educated and poorer. But the right wing press blamed all Jews for rising criminal activity, unhygienic lifestyle, etc. German Jews blamed Eastern European Jews for the rise of antisemitism. But the racists hated all Jews, German or not, regardless of their nationality, occupation, class, etc. And the more German Jews integrated, abandoned their old Jewish traditions, and converted to Protestantism and Catholicism, and assimilated into mainstream German society, the more blood and soil nazi racists hated them. Because it would be difficult to recognize, identify, stigmatize and exclude Jews anymore. Because they hated Jews as an ethnic group, all of them without any exception. They hated Jews in a visceral way, they hated their blood, genes, and culture)
Why? Because without exception, all the right wing political parties hated Jews. Every one of them was racist and xenophobic to the bone. The entire German right-wing political sphere was antisemitic to the core. The old school, traditional conservatives to the radical and revolutionary nazis, the blood and soil agrarians to the Identitarians. The Germanic Neo-Medieval revivalists to the war imperialists and powerful industrialists to the old reactionaries to the second German Empire nostalgics and old regime loyalists who wanted the return and restoration of the monarchy to the historians who romanticized ancient Germanic traditions, religions and mythologies, etc.
German Jews instinctively understood that they had to vote for the left-wing parties exclusively, if they wanted to survive and preserve their community in Germany. It was a matter of survival, it was a matter of life or death- because the right hated Jews and actively/passively wanted their exclusion and removal from mainstream German society. They wanted to reduce jews to second class citizens and worse.

Of course the Jews had their traitors/c00ns/misguided and shortsighted folks who supported the far right because they wanted the approval of Germans and wanted to be accepted by them deep down. Yep just like Black trump fans, some German Jews who were right wing supporters also thought they were one of the good ones too, on some « we made it shyt » they lived in denial and refused to accept reality- that right wing leaning people hate their presence and their existence, and will never accept them as equals and as fellow citizens, no matter their merits and accomplishments. But most Jews were on code, they were wise, and aware of the potential nazi threat, they realized the dangers of the right wing parties and made sure to never give any of them social, vocal, emotional, political and financial support.
The parallels with the political situation of modern black America are obvious and frightening. We Black folks should never vote republican /trump ever. We can’t afford to goof around and say « both sides ». This is not the george w. bush/John McCain/Mitt Romney era GOP anymore. Right now, they are much more closer to 1920s/1930s fascists and Jim Crow era Dixiecrats than 1990s/2000s era GOP. Under trump, it became a openly white Identitarian party wishing to go back to the social contract America had before the 1970s( Jim Crow racial caste system- the American version of apartheid )We have to stay on code and always support the party that isn’t trying to actively fukk us over at least. The democrats are the lesser of the two evils. Their track record is not perfect when it comes to black issues but at least they aren’t trying to bring back open racism, unchallenged white supremacy in all areas, economic/political disfranchisement and legal discrimination. I wish we had better and more effective political options but it’s either them or the racist ass « conservative » GOP. We have to be logical and pragmatic here, and always vote strategically.
Ultimately, Remember that Politics is just a silly game to cacs and Voting options are a luxury for them. Political elections for cacs are like casinos, the House/white supremacy always wins.

Well said. I like that you emphasized that this isn't the GOP of Bush, McCain and Mitt Romney anymore. This is a political party/movement that just attempted a coup. We're fooling ourselves if we think there will ever be a legitimate election if they're in power again.

Exactly. The January 6, 2021 attempted coup d’état was the American version of the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch in Munich who was organized and coordinated by far right forces (nazis, anti-communists, anti-socialists, Jew haters, right wing paramilitary groups, reactionaries, traditional conservatives)

The GOP of Bush Romney etc lead us here. Trump didn’t just appear out of a vortex and take over a political party. I’ve posted before about the famous Lee Atwater interview where he states that you can’t say n**** anymore and have to be subtle and say states rights, bussing, tax cuts etc and the result is blacks get hurt worse than whites. Trump is the result of this and decades of right wing media racial dog whistles. Trump just came along and said fukk all the subtlety. And the Republicans loved him for it as they had had enough of it.
