He really sold the fucc out of that role from the mannerisms body language even down to the awkwardness and goofy grins. Then his whole demeanor changed towards the end when he was out for vengeance
The only other movie I saw of his was Brooklyns finest and he didn't act like that at allHe was good, but not good as.
Ethan Hawke generally acts like that in a lot of his movies...

Denzel absolutely pwned this scene. Deserved the oscar right then and there, especially when you understand what's actually going on in the movie
Training Day is definitely not a one man show, even though Denzel was so great in it he overshadowed a very good Ethan Hawke performance.Everybody knows Ethan Hawke was at his best in that movie...Oscar worthy like Denzel ? Nah but he definitely was at his best...I didn't know there's ppl who look at Training Day as a one man (Washington) show.
Denzel is the only reason this average ass movie is still culturally relevant 20 years later.
