It was due to bad management in the early 2000s that caused the quality to slump.

What dessert do you eat white rice in?

When I was a kid we often lacked money for groceries, so one way my mom tried to stretch things was turn leftover rice into a desert by adding milk, sugar, and cinnamon. It was good.

Now that I've traveled a lot more I've found a lot of good rice desserts - arroz con leche, rice pudding, mango sticky rice, indian kheer, etc.

For me that's pretty much the only way I enjoy white rice anymore.
