Crazy thing is, back in the day there was a massive movement for socialism. Racism was used to dissuade white Americans from supporting progressive bills by providing minorities and immigrants as an out-group to demonize as lazy leeches and job thieves. Cacs will fervently spread their asscheeks so the wealthy elite can have easy access in exchange for "feeling" like they are accepted. It's why you have so many temporarily embarrassed billionaires sucking on Musk and Bezos.

This is true, but only to a certain extent. Republicans rushing to help poor white people. They aren’t telling poor whites to develop these rural areas the way black people are expected to fix up the hood. White people don’t even acknowledge their poor. And even in super white states like Maine, they need poor whites to clean floors and toilets.
