Nah it was a whole Cav unit. It was just one company that I had friends from and alot of their formation had blacks in it /was mixed and their other troops had a couple of blacks in it too.

My sister unit (1/25th) Cav unit had a lot of blacks too. Not so much when I was in bragg

Maybe its just where I was at. U telling me u was one of the few brothers in ur company? Battalion? Brigade?

in the whole squadron in the 3 line companies there were never more than a handful and it almost seemed like most of them were in the mortars section or HQ PLT....It is a ton of Brothers that are 19K's and 13F's however but actual 19D's it's a small amount...I recall even receiving hate when I made SFC and MSG with some haters saying I only got picked up because HRC wanted more Black Senior 19 series Soldiers.

Luckily I never had to go thru that, then again I didnt make it to SFC lol...

Sister became a 2nd Lieutenant today. So proud of her. This is where it all went down.

My sister is in a Black Sorority and has been the past few years. I'm sure it will help her in the military world and the business world moving forward.

Overall a pretty crazy experience. When I saw my sister after graduation she start breaking down and crying. It made me tear up a bit :mjcry:

I know she wanted our father to be there and we all wanted him there too.

A long time friend of my father brought a really cool pic of him from the early 90s, almost 30 years ago and gifted it to us. Really amazing. It's so surreal now seeing cadets and other officers salute my little sister. What a great weekend :wow: #blackexcellence
