“You found Manuel Noreaga? In the Philippines? He has a mansion?!”
Don't say I didn't warn y'all.I'm going to reserve judgement on where I stand until all the facts come out.
However, what I will say is, there seems to be a divide here where folks are at either end of the spectrum, either embracing the representation of Luigi and his immolation of a corrupt industry, and those who see him as someone who was just a cracka who killed a figurehead for his own self-aggrandizing motives. Both things can be true (or false) simultaneously; they're not mutually exclusive concepts. Not in isolation, anyway.
What I do think is the more important question - is this going to change anything for the better?
If/when another character spawns in place as CEO of UnitedHealthcare and business goes on as usual, and Luigi's actions soon become swept out to sea, would this have been all in vain? Is this going to falsely empower those who want to take matters into their own hands to take even more drastic measures (even at the sacrifice of innocent lives)? Is this going to push oligarchs deeper into their own pits of avarice? Is this going to lead to an even greater distorted political sphere where White supremacists use to further limit our rights and regulate more of our daily lives?
I don't know about anyone else, but this last brief period in history (since 2019) has been more chaotic and uncharted in my entire lifetime, and it feels like something is bubbling underneath the surface, that once the top blows off, all hell is gonna break loose. Perhaps we're already in hell, who knows.
I said the same thing. They love them some white killer "What went wrong" stories20/20 about will have a special episode about the shooter tonight.... had me ALREADY!?
