Another overlooked gem from the 80s, Ridley Scott gets to cut loose in Japan and the cinematography is very Blade Runner-esque. Top notch acting from Michael Douglas and the rest of the cast. I actually stumbled across this flick because my mom recommended it to me lol I'm glad she did though, this def one of my favorite ridley scott movies.

Ninja Assassin

I hate CGI blood but Ninja Assassin did it right. They understand if you gonna do CGI blood it's gotta be heavily stylized anime tier shyt, you can't try to do it "realistic." Blood aside its not a perfect movie but I love it. Kinda reminds me of all those american made ninja movies they used to do in the 80s.

My nomination goes to "Solo." Mario Van Peebles on his action shyt, a very young Adrien Brody in a small supporting role (I think it's his first film credit?) and a great William Sadler villain. As a kid in the 90s my uncle used to let me pick the action movies and shyt we'd rent on weekends and I used to grab this one all the time if there was nothing new to get:

great 80s action and a homage to Zatoichi. Didn't get talked about a lot, but picked up another buzz in the mid 90s after being referenced by Nas.

Rutger Hauer got a few of these.

My other favorite of his:

:heh: I watched this movie over and over as a kid, but never learned the name of it til way into adulthood. Whoever recorded it on VHS didn't record the opening scenes or the credits. :mjlol:

Also I'm calling first dibs on Venom 2 code next week

Saw this movie before it eas finished eith cgi.
It was next level before cgi. Tjat is how good rhis kovie was. The opening scene that creates the oohs for this fikm originally was just a black room too. Imo the original all black scene with no cgi was better. That is how good this movie is in the genre of action.

This movie was great.
Not sure why they just hated on this or john carter.
Yet the neg reviews for this movie are completely wrong. Plus this movie has the wherewithal to not be cliche. Plus has a villain worth a damn. Who should have respect put on his name as far as cerebral treachery. Meets violence and villainy.
fukk all the talks of bad makeup cause paula patton is hold the phone fiyone.
as a long toothedth orc.

Highly underrated and wrongly rated.
