The show didn't stand a chance, black folks not sitting in the house watching tv in the summer

They should've held this until the fall and sandwiched it between 2 of their other comedies(Blackish/Goldbergs/Fresh off the Boat/Modern Family)

According to deadline, it had good ratings and actually increased over time, so clearly it ain't that

 "Power" says hi.

Power doesn't have good ratings though and most people I know didn't watch it live

:what: "Power" is Starz's most successful show ever & is always #1 trending topic on social media when it airs.

It was only room for one black family show and Blackish got it on lock :yeshrug:
It was an ok show for some background noise.

Real talk, whenever this show is on in the background, I always assume it's a rerun of "Black-ish" until I pay attention & see diffrent actors.

@MartyMcFly Is this show any good?

Is Mike Epps gonna go back to Starz's "Survivor's Remorse"?

It has its moments. The pilot is weak because it's just a rehash of the movie but obviously not as good. The last episode that aired last night was really good along with being insightful.

And nah man his character is dead on that show so unless they plan on having an ash vs evil dead crossover ep, I wouldn't count on it

SR was written open ended so I pray he comes back. Their dynamic and casting was absolutely perfect and I would hate for it to end due to an experiment like Uncle Buck :snoop:

I don't think that's what happened. Shyt he only filmed 8 episodes of this show lol. I doubt it took that much out of him where he felt like he couldn't do his Starz show.

I remember when SR was going heavy everybody was saying he was going to dip to do this show. Was that not the reason he left? Otherwise it would have had to be $$$ problems.

Whatever happened, SR was one of my favorite shows :to:

'Uncle Buck' cancelled by ABC

Comedy series "Uncle Buck" will not be renewed for a second season at ABC, Variety has confirmed.

Star James Lesure first revealed the news on Twitter Wednesday, writing, "Disappointed. No more @ABCUncleBuck. Cancelled. Thankful to have worked with @ABCNetwork. Proud of what we've done. Thx 4 let us entertain u." ABC then confirmed the cancellation.

The season one finale of "Uncle Buck" aired Tuesday night. ABC had run off the eight-episode season over the course of four weeks, airing two episodes a night on Tuesdays at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Just an hour before word came of the cancellation, ABC issued a press release touting ratings for the series, which averaged 3.8 million total viewers in Nielsen live-plus-same day numbers, an 81% lift from ABC's performance in the same time period over the course of the same four weeks a year ago. "Uncle Buck" also averaged a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demo, more than double ABC's average from a year earlier.

Based on the 1989 feature film starring John Candy, ABC's "Uncle Buck" featured comedian Mike Epps as an irresponsible uncle who becomes a live-in nanny to his nieces and nephew. Nia Long, James Lesure, Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi and Aalyrah Caldwell also starred in the show, which was a co-production of Universal Television and ABC Studios. The series was executive produced by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley with Will Packer through Packer's overall deal with Universal TV.
