Te reason that you would've never heard of Zimmerman had he been black is because he would've been arrested and charged that night like the black man in this particular case was. You crackas need to stop blaming the media too. Black people are the one's who made the media pay attention to the Zimmerman case, not the other way around. The media didn't start paying attention until black people started protesting. The case was racial from the very beginning. Zimmerman racially profiling Martin caused the whole situation. The media amplified that case because they wanted a story. Which is why they tried their hardest to make it racial even going as far as hiding that Zimmerman was half Hispanic at first, using pictures of Trayvon from when he was several years younger, and editing the 911 phone call to make it sound like Zimmerman was dropping a racial slur when he wasn't. Should he have been found guilty? Yes - but guess what? If he decided to sue CNN for slander tomorrow he would have a very strong case. The only thing you can really say is that he wasn't arrested on the spot but I guess you aren't aware of the fact that it's common practice not to charge a person while the case is still being investigated. They were obviously in a fight, he had damage, and it looked like self-defense. Black people are notoriously sensitive - which is why the media played you like fools and lost the case for you.
Case in point - look at the OP. You can't sensationalize black on white crime so the media wouldn't even bother.

Its clear as day that race played a major factor in what happened that night between Martin as Zimmerman, and it played a major factor in Zimmerman's judicial process, and it playe a major factor in how the public has responded to the case and trial. Race is clearly ingrained in every aspect of this story, yet whites want to deny it. You want to blame the media and "sensitive blacks" for making the case about race, when it's obvious that Zimmerman racially profiling Martin caused this whole thing to begin with. You want to pretend as if te only reason that he wasn't initially arrested is because the police were still gathering evidence for their ongoing investigation even though it's clear that the police's investigation was over and they were pretty much done with the case. This is why black people started making noise. You want to pretend as if the piss poor job that the Sanford police department did had nothing to do with race. You want to pretend as if Zimmerman isn't white, when he clearly is. You want to pretend as if whites aren't supporting Zimmerman because he killed a black kid.
