The Water Wars are gonna be wild :wow:

India has water disputes with China and Pakistan. If a Sino/Pakistan-India Water war happens just to put in perspective the combined population of the three countries is bigger than the world population in world war 2. Which means a war like this will easily overtake WW2 in terms of casualties even without nukes being used.

This reminds me I should start stocking up on water, for drinking or otherwise.

1.5 Celsius+ in the 2030s means the collapse for a lot of the poor countries around the globe. The Arab Spring was a prologue of what’s to come and we saw the chaos and political effects it had on the west(Brexit and election of Donald). To see what the Mideast, Central Asia and North Africa will look like look at Yemen, Libya and Mali. Which means food insecurity and water shortages leading violent revolutions leading to civil wars and ultimately chaos. It will reach a point that the West won’t intervene because too many nations will have failed. We will see massive amounts swarming to first world countries leading to democracies being more fascist as the right will use white fear of non whites to gain power.

2 degrees Celsius in the 2040s-2050s means
crop yields in all major breadbaskets start to take double-digit percentage hits to output, even in good years. All the fukking fiat currency in the world can't solve a global food shortage. Think of the current supply chain issues caused by Covid leading to rising of prices. Expect this to occur. When you have food shortages, rising food prices it means things will get messy politically to say the least. Also at 2+degrees Celsius means more stronger storms hitting the south. And Hurricanes like Sandy hitting the north will happen much more often meaning coastal cities will get devastated and rendering them damn near impossible to live. Just imagine a category 4 storm hitting NYC directly. I live here and read the scenarios of what happens when Cat 4 hits us and the city would not recover from that. Think of the economic ramifications of the country if this happens. And imagine the country facing food shortages, water shortages leading to rolling blackouts and brownouts, and Miami hit by a Cat 5. Basically it would be a horrific crisis we would face. Not to mention the millions upon millions of refugees from the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico swarming to the US as their nations collapse because of famine or flooding. This is what we are facing and we need mitigation measures right now.

However the response to Covid has taught me that if people can’t even get their shyt together to wear masks or take a vaccine in a horrific situation pandemic then nothing will be done.
America elects politicians that are reactive and scary and so they will only wait until the moment is here to think about this. Nothing is getting done and we are fukked.

:lolbron: Humans are there own worst enemy. It's best to stay on Terra Firma then go to Mars. Everyone is expecting Space Bubbles and New-Age shyt. But you would need tons of rockets for that material to be sent over. Even at best you would be living in a probably a space the size of a cramped bedroom.

Most people get bored of vacation after a week, then they just want to go home. :mjlol:

America is fukked. I've already accepted that it probably wont be America that leads the world in addressing climate change. We can't even do the bare minimum. We can't even pass an infrastructure bill that addresses climate change on a surface level. Any attempt to address the issue is labeled "communism". To make matters worse Climate change isn't even considered a priority concern for most Republicans. They're more concerned with culture wars. Once shtf for the average white American that's when they'll have some sense to vote in a politician that acknowledges the crisis. Until then we're screwed.

On a collective level its going to take a global catastrophe in order to coerce more countries to limit their emissions.

I recommend you all read 'Ministry for The Future' by Kim Stanley Robinson. It is pretty accurate about our predicament. In the book it took a heat wave that killed 20 million people in India in order for drastic measures to be taken. In the very short future we'll see eco-terrorist, eco-fascism and potentially dangerous geo-engineering attempts to limit warming.

Its the Republicans and Democrats. Democrats are not serious about global warming.
