black business is the key in all this and I understand the social issues get people emotional and riled up...but we should always remember it all comes back to money...these HBCU's closing down is a great example of our lack of black wealth via business....these celebs can't really fund schools because their wealth is tied up with other people's businesses...they can give out scholarships, but then those black students are probably going to work for a white owned company so their bosses really don't mind and might actually help with the scholarship foundations...if we had more black owned businesses, we'd have all these schools funded or at least in better financial situations

so I don't really care about scholarships...we need more entrepreneurship boot camps/workshops/foundations imo

Need funding for education and I don't think you are going to teach any sizable portion of AAs and Americans in general how to produce their own goods and services unless you can pay them for it on the front end.

Violence and boycotts can be effective but with purpo$$$e.

we need to develop business districts. asians lock down streets, which after a while grows into enclaves of just asian businesses. a boycott could spur this if this is the plan disseminated to the people.

At the beginning of mean streets
This was a very good interview actually. I agree with a lot of what he says especially about bourgeoise educated black folk, which is what I try to avoid. And definitely about recruitment from ivy leagues. Graduating from a New York City public school, I definitely got a full ride because I was low income, from the hood, at the time from a single parent household, and had a near perfect SAT score and a 4.0 GPA from an exam school. I wish I could've had one of them HBCUs come and recruit me. It was a polarizing experience, a 99% white school, I was probably one of only 10 black kids. Dead ass. I would've never wanna do that to my kid. I was also a gifted kid, they tried to get me evaluated for "special ed" because it was the 90s and tried to research on me as well but my mother and father were educated enough to not to let that happen.

That's why I implore every black person in this country to read Medical Apartheid by Harriet Washington. :ohlawd: They come around knocking on the doors of black folk looking to test on us and give us diseases and shyt, to try and later on say we are genetically predisposed to being "defective". I'm deadass shook of being a parent, raising black children. I want to see more about Umar's school, shyt I might even donate real talk.
