He is right about the lack of a professional inventory. It is not just a problem with blacks but the entire US. We have too many elementary school teachers but not enough high school math, physics, and chemistry teachers. Europe and Asia do a somewhat better job of limiting degrees.

I'm not talking about the scholarships. I'm talking about funding the schools. It might exist but, where is the Oprah school of broadcasting or journalism or whatever. The JayZ business school. White celebs give scholarships AND throw money to fund building, labs, and other environments.
At major universities every building has a benefactor.
Floyd Mayweather walks around with a million in cash. He can't take a Grambling or Southern and pump cash into a program to put his name on? "Money Mayweather school of Business". Or since people hate him, find the Omar like school himself with a boxing element.
I'm not one to count someone's money, but we can do a lot more than humble (or not so humble) bragging on social media. Raise the bar and cut the excuses.
At the end of the day you cant make someone spend their money how you want them to, and if they are doing things you dont agree with, then dont support them.

The thing with "do for self" philosophy is that it is a numbers game. Combine behavioral psychology with treadmill capitalism and most people do not have it in them or the time to take that approach.
You might be able to carve out a commune for a few 1000 Black people but the vast majority of of the 40-50 million AAs won't benefit. You might be able to build a school that helps a few 1000 Black children but Black people have never had a problem of creating individual stories of #BlackExcellence and people making it out the hood to become wealthy and educated, its overarching change that transforms the entire community that we can't break through.
I know people like to call things we are owed "handouts" but unfortunately there are only a few institutions that can print out money, set interest rates, etc, so the vast majority of people and countries, regardless of race or nationality, have to get their money from these people. Athletes and actors do not have the pockets to fund us. The 1 trillion we have in spending power (which includes the Oprahs and Puffys) aint shyt for 40-50 million people when you consider Asians have the same amount of spending power and half the population number. The focus has to be finding a method that FORCES these people to cut a check or suffer some kind of loss whether it be a substantial boycott or the threat of violence. A Poor People's Campaign for the 2000s. If not, its everyone for themselves and help who you can while White Supremacy is the status quo.

Need funding for education and I don't think you are going to teach any sizable portion of AAs and Americans in general how to produce their own goods and services unless you can pay them for it on the front end.
