the problem is , the church as trained most black people to look at leadership like a congregation looks at a preacher. this then places leaders in the jesus template which is irrational and illogical. that form of leadership has literally never worked.

leadership, true leadership is acknowledging people for what they are gifted at and taking advantage from that field. a lawyer is the leadership in law, you mechanic is the leadership in getting your car fixed. no person is the savior, no person is the fix it all carry us to the promise land moses crap.

umar is good at teaching, take the teachings and move on. tariq is great at creating professional productions to tell our story, take that and move on. people in leadership positions always clash, on all sides, we just watched an entire alt right, white liberal civil war take place in charlottesville (or however you spell it) hell the very Constitution we live under now was created with years of conflict among the writers of it, and hell jefferson dissed much of the original language of it.

so this conflict doesnt bother me to the least, because i take the good from people and dont make them my savior. umar lectures on a subject interesting to me, i will listen, tariq puts out another documentary, i will take my family to see it as i have done to all his films that come to chicago.

if people are disappointed, its their own fault for making people modern day jesus and moses. those are fictional characters, and this is real life.

This is a perfect summary of the situation as I see it. Where people mess up is looking at these dudes as infallible heroes. Just take the good from their message as you said and move on. if you don't build them up to be superheroes you won't be disappointed when they do normal human being shyt like beef with each other.
