You funny.
U do understand that the NOI would be considered more radical then Umar and here u are asking me to point out another Black man who tried to successfully build a school for Black kids after I gave an answer that the government would consider radical.
You funny.
Magic Johnson, Jalen Rose, Oprah, Diddy, and Serena Williams have all been involved in opening schools so that removes the idea that Black people cant open schools. but if we talking about a school where there is an emphasis on " being Black" like seriously.....Thats some "from the left" rare type shyt. I gave u Elijah Muhammad and u ask for another name in a rare category. You funny. Only other answer I can give is the school WEUSI SHULE translated "Black school" in Swahili MC Lyte was speaking on the song HEAL that closed down but was an outlet that had an emphasis on being Black.
I didn't ask you if the NOI was considered radical. We all know that. I said the reason they were able to gain traction with such "radical" ideals is that they were under the banner of islam. That was by design. Thats why they were able to do so much for themselves.
What grassroots movement of blacks have ever educated themselves? You named entertainers who DONATED TO and FINANCED schools. Entertainers aren't revolutionaries. They financed schools for black kids, that teach them white values and white history. So whats to brag about?
You will never see a school for black children with a black curriculum in this country because craccas wont allow it. Dude who made that intitial point was correct.
You are never going to see it. You will never see Anthony T Browder, Ivan Van Sertima, or John Henrick Clarke being taught to black kids. It will always be considered propaganda or pseudo science or not from an accredited *cough*white*cough* source.
Anything that places emphasis on black pride or building of black consciousness or self esteem is outlawed in this country.
You will never see a principle as simple as "Sankofa" being taught to our youth. EVEN THOUGH THATS WHAT IS NEEDED NOW, MORE THAN EVER MAYBE.
I'm not trying to shyt on your point. I'm just saying the The Honorable Elijah Muhammed was the exception. I don't think we can use him in comparison to Umar.
