press ignore or just ignore the silly parts without pressing anything.

like i do

that's it with your convos about me in here :hubie: i don't care enough so from now i'll just stay on topic

People like you try to act like you are far removed from the process, when in fact you are just cowards. Whoever in the UK hurt you, I am sorry, get over it.

Wherever you go in the world there is hurt and disappointment. That you would choose not to vote disqualifies you from commenting or standing in judgement on what's happening in the UK, as you have yourself contributed to it.

Save your bullshyt for someone who cares. Ignored.

I’m not American but your desire to support the Tories despite them sinking your country to be worse than parts of Eastern Europe is funny to observe

:mjlol:

All Tories are clever by half. Especially the ones who never went to Ox-bridge. What are you getting out of this muddle

I'm so far behind now :snoop:

Planning regulations will be relaxed in up to 12 places earmarked for this status, and taxes will be cut to incentivise investment.

The announcement, which is expected to take deregulation further than the post-Brexit freeports set up by Boris Johnson’s government, will be part of a package that will also see the rise in national insurance contributions abandoned, a planned increase in corporation tax scrapped and green levies temporarily removed from fuel bills.

The West Midlands, the Thames estuary, the Tees Valley, West Yorkshire and Norfolk are among the places where the zones may be sited. According to the plans set out by Truss in the summer, in each area there will be a central region, where regulations and planning rules will be eased to encourage industrial, commercial and residential development, and a periphery where the planning rules will be streamlined for housing.

According to one report, the Treasury is considering whether, as well as offering lower taxes for businesses operating in the zones, it could also offer lower personal taxes for people living or working there.

So... I guess this is Britannia Unchained?

I can't really envision how such a zone would work, but one early reaction does not paint a positive picture...:
Labour peer Lord Sikka said “investment zones” amounted to “corporate states [within] a state, with ultra-low tax and regulation.”

“How much sewage will water companies dump there?” he said in a post on social media, adding that the plans would see “companies having free-ride whilst poverty stricken people fund infrastructure.”

(And lower personal taxes doesn't really make sense lol. What about everyone outside of these zones?*) It's like they don't understand that taxes are supposed to be used for things? Throughout the election CIRCUS she spoke only of reductions as a reward for... something (idek, 'hard work' or something?), and that was apparently the extent of her economic policy. That and tax cuts to stimulate growth, end the war, cure cancer etc.

I recall both Rishi and Liz mentioning freeports as part of the post-Brexit plan for growth - I didn't even know we had them already. Well, are they working?

Trickle down economic on steroids. Welcome to the modern Plantation.

The Empire was built on this, first with white indentured labour, then with Free African labour.

Like all things in a capitalist market. This ultimately benefits those with capital and increases the disparity between the rrich and the poor while wiping out the middle class.

None of this will benefit the average person in the UK.

Good way to further alienate Scotland though.

Ironically isn't this the same thing tax havens in the Caribbean were punished for?

What an idiot
More like an opportunist, knowing she is likely to lose the next election going for broke and employing all the capitalist techniques that have been known to fail.

It will take decades to fix this damage.

Then the people will allow them to do it again.

:ohhh:
Truss said during her campaign that keeping corporation tax low was vital to attract investment, but a report from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) showed past reductions in the tax rate had not led to more investment.
A bald-faced lie :wow:

"Slashing corporation tax is just a continuation of a failed race to the bottom that hasn't delivered for the UK economy," said George Dibb, head of the Centre for Economic Justice at the IPPR, which describes itself as a progressive think tank.
I think that (and what @jj23 said) basically sums up this government.
