So now the Tories are going to (in the words of their levelling-up minister no less) trim the fat of the welfare state. 
After 12 years of cuts their plan is to punish the poor in the middle of a cost of living crisis so they can give tax cuts to the highest earners, reduce corporation tax etc.
They don't have a mandate for any of this.
