It's one job that he would take in the NFL. 1 job.

DALLAS COWBOYS

That's the only name that Jerry Jones could pull and be satisfied. The biggest name in coaching. Of course, Jerry would have to release some of his reins and let Saban "buy the groceries" too.

Honestly, Alabama is a better gig than most NFL jobs at this point. Dallas isn't most NFL jobs though.

I will say, if I was a Bama fan and Nick Saban just left out of the blue like that, my first thoughts would be "we're about to get owned by the NCAA"

We are not scared of the NCAA

They can't do shut to us that haven't already

I think Saban may leave in a few years but not right now. I think he'll stay at Bama at least two more years and then he may go back into the NFL again. But he ain't going to a situation that's not ready made to win this time. Though i think he would have gotten better and been a decent coach his first time if he would have stuck around.

Bama boosters could make Saban's life way better than Saban could ever create for himself in Cleveland or anywhere else.

And lol @ "he might leave for Texas"

He would be CRAZY to leave for Texas. At Alabama he is a legend, there's no other pro team in the state, the only other college team even coming close in the area is Auburn. Saban would scoff at whatever offer Texas could throw his way. The Bama boosters would match and then some. Saban isn't going to go to Texas to recreate a legacy that he's already cemented in Bama. He doesn't give a damn about proving his worth in a place like Texas.

What's he gonna do? Go to Texas and wait all year to play whatever great team is coming out of the SEC?

Saban is sitting on the throne at the most successful, most historic college football program in the mecca conference of college football. Anything outside of a jump back to the NFL is a bad move IMO. There's not even a LATERAL move that would compare to the situation that Saban has found himself in at Alabama. It's pro or bust at this point.

If Saban wins another BCS NC, I could see him thinking about making that jump again. However, the Bama family (univ, boosters, faithful) are going to make it more than worth his while to stay there for as long as he would like.

He wasn't THAT bad in Miami. Not going after Brees and going w/Culpepper fukked them over...HARD.

That being said, I don't see him at Bama 5 years from now. It'll either be in Texas or at an NFL team that's already talented. Thing is though...he's not getting any younger so a move BACK to the NFL would have to happen very soon.

Totally agree with this. He had the Dolphins competing hard with no QB play. They brought Dante back too soon off injury. Dante should have took the bullet and admitted he needed to sit on the shelf longer, but I guess a nikka had bills to pay

They took games away from you, not championships

Also, the probo would be strong

This is all besides the point anyway. I said that to say that the only thing scaring Saban away from Bama is something tragic like the NCAA sledgehammer or his aspirations getting the best of him.

Any coach that is worth a damn can go to Alabama and win. Any great coach can go to Alabama and win championships(plural). The tradition and resources at Alabama are unfukkwitable, and this is coming from an Auburn fan. However, this may be the reason why Nick Saban still might have something to prove.

Spurrier + Alabama = ship
Urban Meyer + Alabama = ship
Les Miles(Yeah I said it)+ Alabama = ship
Chris Peterson, Gary Patterson and couple of more probably would have won a ship at Alabama in 4 years.

I don't know about multiple championships, but that would have been possible too, and I think Saban and the upper elite coaching brass knows this

Saban is a launching pad for the NFL. He's the best thing for an up-and-coming college football player.

While Bama in and of itself has the facilities and history to produce great teams/coaches, there is no denying how elite Coach Saban is.
