Uhh Mendes is top 3 fighter. I still think he can beat anyone in the division outside Aldo. To suggest hes a gate keeper is ludicrous

I think that's the problem, outside of Aldo and Edgar who in that division is actually elite? Who in that division can Mendes beat that wld say to you whoo that's a huge win, that's an all time great fight. I look at the top 10 and I see lamas and cub Swanson and I think yea good fighters but neither of them are memorable to me or represent a real stepping stone or even remotely close to elite.

I think ppl get mixed up wit being a top 3 or top 5 fighter with being elite. U can be a top 3 and not be elite as fighting is all about ur competition if ur competition isn't elite then it's hard 2 say u r either.

Hopefully people are starting to realize how much of a monster Frankie has been . Footwork wise the only Fighter you can make a case for is DJ( tough decision ). He also had some of the cleanest boxing I've ever seen MMA wise.

I personally felt he beat BH both times but I understand that is debatable. Seems like he is getting that killer Instinct and I do believe if Connor loses tomorrow Frankie can beat Aldo. Also think he would have an easier time beating McGregor.

Chad isn't a gatekeeper. His losses are to the 2 best guys in the division and Conor. No disrespect to Conor but he's not on the same tier as Aldo & Frankie. That's subject to change after tonight's fight.

Every always brings up his losses, we know who he lost to. But how about his wins? Has he beaten ne elite fighters yet? Not too ranked, but actually elite fighters, or possibly ne1 that has a chance to be an all time great?

If I fight bones Jones rite now I'll lose but that doesn't mk me elite jus cous I lost 2 da champ, it matters who u have beaten. And Lamas, cub and Guida don't cut it for me.

Isn't that the whole point? There shldnt be plenty of elite fighters that's the upper echelon less guys at top.

To call Mendes elite is an insult to the real elite fighters like aldo, bones Jones etc.

Ppl throw around dis word elite too loosely these days. Mendes has never beaten a champ or even a former champ. He best win is Ricardo lamas sorry that doesn't mk u elite.

valid point, i dont personally believe he's elite but i feel like he's upper echelon of the division, i consider someone like Cub Swanson to be mid level fighter

frankie his past his prime though, he can't beat aldo, or mcgregor

mendes chin is gone, conor told him at the press conference he was damaged for good and he needed to get checked out

he'll never be able to take punches the same and probably should retire before he's hurt even worst
