I actually meant Ortega vs Aldo in the Featherweight division, but they could do Poirier vs Ferguson in lightweight to figure out who should fight for the title (not fair to Ferguson BUT he was in a position to fight for the belt when he got injured). I think Poirier does immediately deserve a tile shot honestly.Please, no more interim titles
Is Tony really ready to come back? Didn't he tear his ACL in April? Isn't that an injury that takes like 9 months to recover from? I'd just let the winner of this main event fight the winner of Conor/Khabib
but what else do you think should happen, imagine they say Max won't compete until next year? Should Ortega wait.. should he fight Aldo for nothing? He's already the #1 contender, and Aldo was #2 before tonight's fight. So.. everything is stuck in that division.
Apparently, I saw this today, Ferguson is cleared to train and Dana White has said this week that he would like to see Ferguson on a card with Khabib vs Conor.
I agree with you: they need to end this Interim championships thing but they won't do it. They'll use Interim titles to give title challenger fights (like Colby Covington - RDA) more weight and more PPV buys. But then they strip the Interim title of Colby one month after he wins and earns it fair and square.. and the consolation prize is: oh he can fight the winner of Woodley-Till. That's crazy.
