Just look at how good Jon Jones has been for the past 15 years.
It just shows you how difficult it is to stay at the top. Izzy, Usman etc. These guys were amongst the best at their peaks, but it's hard to sustain that level of performance.
Jon Jones still hasn't been beaten, though people might have an argument for the Dominick Reyes fight.

Izzy had a good run and is a legend but yea it's been obvious for a bit that as cerebral of a fighter as we like to credit him as, he stayed finding himself in precarious situations that his lightning fast reflexes would bail him out of in the past.
But we know what happens with age... and factoring that he was already in his late 20s when he joined the UFC in Dec 2017, it does feel like he got old "quick". But that's the nature of it
He could stick around and be top 10 guy and a gatekeeper for the division, but his days of being a serious contender are over. His chin and his reflexes are gone.
