Yoel-Lyoto was TENSION.
I was surprised at how active Machida was early on...usually he's very laid back but Machida was throwing a lot of stuff out there but Romero was outkicking him....and he wasn't even faking takedowns...Yoel was in their straight up striking with the most confusing striker in the company....and it was neck and neck
Then in the 2nd round he was visibly hurting Machida...and he was just shaking off all of Machida's strikes.
And when dude finally went for the TD he got it like it was nothing....and I never felt that I heard "gay" during the interview.
The co-main was fun....Lorenz still ain't great fighting backwards but he was making Ponz miss a lot and when Ponz did land, Lorenz absorbed it all well. I think he can crack the top 5, but that's about it.
And Evans and Stann were borderline hating on Romero's performance....they used Romero's lack of takedown attempts as bad strategy...but he finished the fight, arguably won all rounds...and then used his wrestling when he felt like it(and finished the fight).
