I won't derail the thread any further past this (we can take the discussion to HL if necessary), but I don't think a higher power is an ignorant bigot. I also recognize that homophobia and heteronormativity as we understand them are relatively recent social constructs (not natural, inborn attitudes), and such attitudes benefit the ruling class by dividing people against it.
Anyway, his comments at the post-fight presser made things worse as far as I'm concerned.
I retract what I said earlier about #BlackExcellence.
I wish we had a modern-day equivalent of Ali, an Afrikan who was conscious and simply that good at the highest levels.

I was referencing Romero's comments that support American exceptionalism... something an Ali-type of figure would not do.
To be clear, "Jah" is the equivalent of "Yah," as in "Yahweh." Not all Rastas are homophobes.
