I think the last two generations should have taught us that the cross generational year is usually not great for sports games.
This ain't about being cross generational, Undisputed hasn't been good since 2010. Boxing games translate much better in video games than MMA does. That's why to this day people are still playing Fight Night Champion.

I get that you don't like these games, and wasn't really trying to put a cape on for them.

I was just pointing out that if this turns out especially bad, people should see it coming a mile away, since sports franchises typically struggle when they're spread over more than the two to three current platforms.

Once again, no idea what you are talking about. UFC 3 undisputed was fire. Even EA first mma pre ufc license was good. Most people don’t care to learn about grappling which is why they don’t play mma games. Stick to defending those shytty WWE titles

They are never giving us Fight night. If they do its going to use the UFC animations

All facts, sadly.

I'll say it every single time this comes up: licensing costs will keep us from seeing another Fight Night again, unless boxing miraculously becomes incredibly popular again.

UFC fighters sign away the rights to their likeness in UFC contracts (at no extra cost), so EA just needs to secure the UFC license, and hope the game sells well enough. Even if we were to imagine a world where EA just had to cut a deal with each promoter instead of each boxer, they're still going to end up spending more than they would spend on UFC licensing.

It's bullshyt, because a new Fight Night would be a perfect showcase game for the new consoles. :francis:
