Embarrasing reaction from Lee.
Honestly I agree but I also think he's young and was just really emotional overall, from before the fight, throughout the fight, and after. I think he'll mature, but outside of the ring and in the ring. I think he put a little too much effort into trying to finish the fight quickly, instead of pacing himself. Granted, he had a tough weight cut and staph.
Lee will get to the top eventually, whether it's 155 or 170. That guy is for sure a star and is going to only get better.
Props to Tony for staying calm and composed. After RDA, I think Ferguson has the best resume in 155 history at this point, even over BJ Penn. 10 consecutive wins, with 7 finishes, over a murderer's row. I love Darce chokes (if you couldn't tell by the screen name) so I've been a fan of his since the start of his streak at UFC 166 where he nailed that baseball slide darce on Mike Rio. I'm also an Eddie Bravo fan, so I'm happy for Tony.
I really think that Tony can beat Conor. It's an interesting match up. Tony has an amazing chin but has never fought someone with power like Conor, and he lets himself get hit too much IMO.
On the other hand, Conor has a habitual issue of gassing (for at least a little bit) after 8-12 minutes, and Tony has incredible cardio and endurance. If he can whether that storm, and especially if he can get Conor to the floor (at any point during the fight), then Conor is in trouble.
An x-factor to me is that even though so many of Tony's fights end on the floor, they usually get there from the opponent shooting or by Tony snapping them down. He doesn't really shoot for takedowns, and does more snap downs and clinch work. Another x-factor is that Dillon Danis (Conor's BJJ coach) specializes in darces, guillotines, and anaconda chokes. So he will be able to prep Conor for Tony's front headlock series about as good as anyone.
I'm excited for that one.
