No! I like the way Dana immediately shut down any talk of bringing in the new weight classes. It might be great for fighters health wise but it would kill the sport. Fans are so clueless sometimes

They already lack depth for the weight classes they already have

Precisely and adding weight classes will worsen the situation. Imagine a scenario where we have 5 cases like the woman's featherweight division. These are the same fans that cried for more strenuous drug testing and the banning of TRT, fuming ridiculous

It's hard to give him the Mayweather nod he has to beat other champions diff weight classes etc... but he is dope no doubt...

I don't think weight class jumping is comparable from Boxing to MMA at the moment because of the weight cutting issue and the lack of weight classes. The top three cats at 135 are each 4-5 inches taller than DJ and will come in significantly heavier which is a killer in grappling exchanges over 25 minute title fights. He'd be smart to make them come to him and ride every advantage he can get even though some fans will hold that against him.

It just gets muddy in the water. The pose/demeaner/intellect DJ possess great. Overall though he's goat over a weak division with very little push back if any. We all know no goats are the same but besides Cejudo and I believe Reis. Who else is a decorated fighter... it's a tough sale. I hear what you're saying but he's more like GGG just a guy who is dope and swallowed a division as opposed to Mayweather a legend among many divisions.

I think he needs to go see whoever is the champ at 135 do a Cruz rematch... will def be interested in his next move.

With DJ, it's the last generation that he completely wiped out without a chance to earn UFC accolades that I think gets thrown under the bus. Pre-addiction Mccall was a problem, Torres went out on his shield which made a lot of heads forget what he was in his prime and Joe Benavidez has beaten every great 125'er put in front of him besides DJ (only other losses were competitive bouts with Cruz whose a first ballot HOF'er too). Kid Dynamite was already on his way down when DJ got to him but that's another ATG of the smaller weight classes imo. The next gen is harder to measure but I think Cejudo and Horiguchi are well on their ways to being 125 standouts who run over by MM. So all in all, I think DJ's resume won't get credit for years and might even suffer the GSP/Anderson Silva effect where now years later, smoking Nate Marquardt or KO'ing Vitor Belfort looks less impressive because those guys fell off but kept on fighting.
