The conor shot wasn't that big either tho, Aldo just charged into it like a bum.

True max ain't a big 1 punch guy but he was tagging him that whole round cuz he started getting loose.

It seemed like Aldo was gassing 4 min into the second round too, and the lack of legkicks is so :mindblown:

Max gets better rounds 3 4 5 and also did looked gassed

Nothing was surprising about the fight at all outside of Aldo not throwing kicks. He's been primarily fighting as a boxer for some time now though. Max started slow but was getting better and better as the fight wore on and Aldo was predictably slowing down. I didn't expect Max to finish him, I thought he would just win a decision by dominating late but he's a guy that's been getting better with every fight. For me it's cool to see guys like Miocic and Holloway get to the belt as we pretty much saw their entire development in the UFC. They got signed very early and we've seen all the growing pains.

If Aldo wants to prove a point he needs to fight before the end of the year and tear a hole in I guess the next guy would be Cub, so he can line himself with an early title shot next year...

hendricks i can understand but condit? :francis::hhh::elliot:

Hendricks is debatable, but he beat Condit fairly clearly.

You right about both creh. Hendricks had GsP rethinking his life choices after that fight

Condit, on the other hand, took way too much damage to score a W.

He definitely lost vs Hendricks that was a outrageous robbery

Condit....nah. As much as I wish it wasn't so :wow:

Agree to disagree with all of you. GSP ace looked like ground beef post Condit. Takedowns and some elbows were wack.

Where was Aldo's leg kicks man? I could have sworn he would utilize them more and Holloway was in range. I wonder if he was scared of getting countered. Sucks

Aldo broke bones in his foot using those lethal kicks when he joined the UFC a few times and plus on FS1 the panel said he injured his foot in a motorcycle accident that they tried to kept under wraps, so that played a psychological effect on Aldo, not to injured his foot again

been loving Holloway for a long time now, prob in my top 3 fav fighters for a while now. great to see him become the champ. on a side note, i told my father in law (i watch the fights with him all the time) and other mates that Robert Whitaker would get a title shot this year, i've been watching his come up since he won the Smashes. Now he's getting his chance and if he beats Romero he will walk through Bisping.

Aldo looked good for those two rounds, like many have said before the leg kicks could have been a good tatic to use

But let's not undermine max's win. Its his time now, he weather the early storm and did what he needed to. Props to him.

man...i can't give max enough props. even as a huge aldo stan, i was really on the fence for this one. cuz aldo is aldo. but i'm a big holloway fan too, this dude had mad potential from time. you could see it even when he ran into conor and lost. in a decision.

and since then, he has fukking straight beasted, not only winning every fight...but improving every fight, growing every fight, getting better every fight, all the while fighting better competition every fight.

one thing that got me during that fight is, why jose wasn't throwing any kicks? i mean, max isn't some great wrestler...and jose is an absolute monster at tdd. so why just keep it to the hands? i found that strange. especially since max is vulnerable to leg kicks, which is an aldo speciality.

whatever though. :yeshrug:

Aldo is old and broken down from overtraining for 10+ years. The Brazilian style training got him injured more than actual competition. It has been an issue with him for 2+ years when constant injury pullout of fights and degradation of his cardio and chin out of nowhere. He's only 30 and people call him old. lol. Robbie Lawler was facing monsters as a champ and he was fukking 33-36. Aldo broke his body down from overtraining.
