Funniest shyt to me right now is Ramona Shelburne (Rousey's biggest media cheerleader). She's been all over this fight and talking Rousey nonstop all the way up to posting a pic of Rousey right before the bell. Goes completely silent for hours and her first tweet is a passive aggressive tweet about the Nunes tweet. No credit given to Nunes or any talk of the fight. She's been crazy unprofessional with her Rousey coverage.

She definitely wanted Ronda to win. More than anyone...even more than Ronda herself

Nothing in this post contradicts what I said. You're arguing a strawman.

I never denied that Gina was a draw, but she wasn't the draw that Ronda is, and Ronda's PPV numbers back up that statement.

Not to mention the fact that Ronda has way more name recognition. Ask the average joe who Gina Carano is. Ronda is a household name.

She brought more eyes to women's mma than Gina did.

You really got me in here defending Ronda Rousey

I understand people hate Ronda, and a lot of it is justified.

But you can't just re-write history. Gina was an MMA star, but Ronda was transcendent. She was able to draw in people that had never watched an MMA fight before. You can just look at the responses in this thread to judge just how huge Ronda was for the sport. A typical UFC PPV might get a couple hundred posts, unless Conor is involved. But this card is at 1400 posts, and counting.

The only reason Ronda and Tate even got to happen was because of the numbers that Carano / Cyborg did on CBS.

Very few can make grappling and striking work at that level, she isn't one of them. I am still unable to fathom how bad her striking was after a year in the cut. There were a few amateur girls that I knew from my old gym that would wreck her something serious. She is too old and mentally defeated to fight again.

She literally has learned nothing as not just an athlete, but as a person.
