I don't understand the big deal that he lost, MMA at its core is way more of a random sport due to all the possibilities.

I suppose it's a credit to UFC and their marketing that people like Conor are made into stars like this while not even being tested all that much. And it's impossible to expect MMA fighters to fight top opposition after top opposition without losing, shoutout to Jones of course, and a guy like GSP.
