We are 6 months+ into "nextgen"... what was the point of these new consoles if they still have these BS limitations? Shouldn't everything run at 1080p/60fps by now? Especially for $400/$500 + $60 for the games?
Due to console wars people created the asinine idea that resolution and framerate are the only or most important indicators of a games "next gen" prowess. But that couldn't be further from the truth.
It's always a choice for the devs, and they will almost always choose better graphics/effects/textures/A.I./lighting/AA(things people can actually see) over framerate/resolution(things that only matter to console warriors)
I can tell you first hand that Dark souls at 1440p 60fps will never look as good as watch dogs at 900 or 792p 30fps.
People need to get the 1080p 60fps expectations out of their heads and just let these devs cook.
