Ubisoft is magnificent at one thing above all others: world building.

They just have serious problems filling those worlds with interesting/non-repetitive things to do, which is where the storytelling comes in...and if you have all the good writers leave because you're pushing mtx into everydamnthing, you're going to get what you get.
