This was literally one of my favorite games that I played this year. I literally say there to 100% because of how much I enjoyed it. They need more games like this and stop relying on all the AAA that just flop. We need more balance in the games industry and I saw this as a good start

People don't want games like this. I wondered why they bothered. If this game was free on Game Pass wouldn't get a 2nd look from me. The audience for this series wants full stop games. Same with Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed.

This game had two major issues

1. It was called Prince of Persia and you didn't play as that character.

2. It was priced like a AAA game but looked like an indie game that you pay 20 for and kill a weekend with.

It was 40 dollars, AAA games are 70.

And I’ll just say again, being 2d doesn’t mean it looked cheap. There’s a huge gulf between the piles of Metroidvania’s released on steam every month and what this game was doing.

This game was twice as long and more polished than Metroid Dread, it warranted its price point even if people ultimately ended up rejecting it. The game is around 30 hours long. That just speaks more for the on-going narrative of most people rejecting the AA market in general

People have been asking for more AA games, but mostly don't support them

This

And I cop a lot of games but just like the granddaddy Metroid, I’m not dropping no more than 25-30$

And lol at y’all saying this type of game is what the industry needs. The genre is flooded with games :mjlol:

To be fair though, the game was great but that style of prince of Persia has ALWAYS been low key and niche in a mainstream vein. If they wanted a PoP game that would sell they should've, idk, remade the first game, cause who wouldn't buy that. I remember the first game, the ads made you feel like it was an auto cop. And the gen 7 reboot had one of the greatest trailers of all time.

This is one was a good game, but it didn't have the kind of surface level appeal the previous games had of late.

They literally are

But then we get dozens of threads complaining about how big publishers don’t make original games anymore and they force feed us AAA remakes. So which is it?

I got plenty of other games in the genre that I’m more interested in that I already own but haven’t gotten around to playing yet, like I said the genre is populated. if you know you know :blessed:
