When Mike Anderson was coach they tried to lowball him(well actually they did) when it came time to extend him. They wouldn't give him any facility upgrades like he asked for either even though at the time UAB was doing really well in bball and even beat Kentucky in the tournament. They thought they could get him to replace Mark Gottfried at Bama but he wanted to stay at UAB. Gottfried ended up staying a few more years and UAB ended up with Mike Davis who was another decent coach but they fired him and the BOT wouldn't let the AD hire his own coach which is unheard of. They gave him a low ass budget then took the final decision out of his hands.

Jimbo is not a good coach. All of FSU struggles can be attributed to his game planning and scary ass play calling. The most impressive thing about FSU this season has been overcoming Jimbo

NO ONE goes to those games. Even the numbers they put out as "attendance" are partially based on making deals with business in the city to buy tickets or do promotions. One time they even gave tickets away with newspaper subscriptions....and STILL couldn't draw flies.

The sad thing is, back in the day UAB basketball was way up there. Gene Bartow......personally I think chasing football killed the basketball program, and they could have been a great Basketball only school and gone the route of VCU. The theory was to get into what turned into CUSA, but that is a ONE BID basketball league anyway.

UAB drew 16,000 fans for BASKETBALL in Birmingham sometimes way back when.

Pour the money back into basketball.

I don't know about this playboy...They've won a ship and like 30 games straight...and you think they did that with subpar coaching....I've only seen like 6 FSU games over the last 18 months man but damn....
