Get a grip on what you are talking about first. The Boxer Rebellion is irrelevant to the conversation and I don't know why you brought it up in the first place.
The two Opium wars against China was fought over the drug trade, which China was dependent on. Afghanistan borders china, I'm pretty sure it was battle for that land if I recall. This is nothing new
But strategically Afghanistan is situated "ontop" of gas pipelines coming from the Caspian Sea, also the natural resources Lithium, Gold, Lead etc. And the fact its a nice spot for military bases because you're surrounding Iran.
