Honestly to me this goes down as one of the major losses in hip hop. I believe in the spirit in hip hop where people get infected by the “juice” and they get to a creative zenith. RZA was in that zone at that time and the spirit was guiding him to make timeless music. Really sad we will never hear those gems. Would have rewrote history for a lot of cats in a good way.

I don’t know how RZA puts up with these whiny ass nikkas. U-God especially. Dude stay calling shyt RZA does as wack, complaining about money, complaining about RZA business dealings and everything in between. At the end of the Day if the Wu continued without U-God nobody would lose any sleep. Let this be a lesson to all of y’all, doing things for people does not make them grateful. More often than not they become ungrateful and bitter and call you out for shyt you didn’t do, instead of stuff you did.

Just about every single one of them have called him (or his brother Divine) out.

RZA just takes it in stride.

They all helped each other though.

RZA needed them just as much as they needed him.

Most producers become super producers by having their own crew/camp to showcase their production skills. Not just doing beats for hire with random artists. Wu was that crew for RZA.

He really could have been if he dropped a solo album around the solo runs between 94 and 96. Ya can say what you want about him but ugod could have been a star. Give him some good beats to fit his voice and style and he'd have s classic. Him, Deck and Killa had potential classic albums should have been made but that flood happened and other shyt as well.

Y'all be buggin'... seriously... U-God was never a standout member of the Clan, at any point, but a solo album woulda instantly made him one overnight?

I can't even think of a solo U God song that I would play on purpose.

Sunz on the other hand, I think I can let Last Shall Be First play all the way through

look at it from RZA's point of view too.....you can see how the others gave him an artistic lane to work with....

how do you market U God?.....what was his angle?.....he wasn't lyrical like GZA, he wasn't a smoked out panty raider....he wasn't a Wu Gambino.....he wasn't wild like ODB....

he had no lane....no character....nothing for RZA to work with....

that being said....RZA is kinda cold on U God in this Nardwuar interview.....he asks him who's beside him and he looks around the room for someone other than U God to introduce
