I normally wait until multiple playthroughs to speak on a album but this one instantly pulled me in. Tyler is rapping his ass off. The production? Fantastic even sounds like some N.E.R.D shyt on some songs.
The features? Great
If you still not listening to Tyler cause you don't like how weird his stuff is or never listened to him, you're missing out honestly. This is definitely worth the listen

My thing with Tyler he is clearly a student of music, but he hasnt introduced any new sounds for me to consider him in the category people put him in.

Me, Tyler, ASAP Rocky, and others in our age range are children of the Limewire age where we were listening to what our parents played, the music of our time, plus getting lost down rabbit holes and discovering a bunch of music outside of what was played in our region.

to me much of Tylers work is just Neptunes x Gap Band tributes with other stuff sprinkled in. Its not a bad thing but I’d like for him to create new sounds to cement his legacy as a musician.

That’s why a good amount of current era music just doesn’t stick, cause the current gen doesn’t care to know history nor do they really have the influences to make time tested music. They have more avenues to listen to music than the previous generations ever had, yet still choose to have tunnel vision and shyt on previous era music.

it ties to my earlier note, at my age I can appreciate Tyler cause i grew up on the sounds he plays with but it doesnt have lasting value because I can go listen to the songs he pays tribute to. I’m not asking him to abandon this but more so make attempts to create new sounds.

People publically shyt on old music, but the amount of sampling of old songs in their songs is a lot. But on the topic of sample, I wish people would play around bit more and sample things much lesser known.
