IMMIGRANT TETHERS
South africans can be weird like ethiopians and somalis on that "im not black...im really [XYZ]". Its very similar to how some carribeans or latin americans have buffer classes between their proudly identifying black people and their nonblack residents. Its not unique to fba/ados because they treat other africans and even carribeans the same arms length manner.

If one of them openly claims their tribe like zulu or xhosha then they are cool, but the minute you hear the phrase "coloured" from a south african , just know you about to hear some :mjpls:

The facade falls apart miserably the moment they leave their little pockets of the world and an indian, chinese, or white person reminds them that they are no different than the rest of us. Im waiting on the day Tyla gets her "wake up nikka" moment while shopping in paris or LA and has to rallybehind blackness cause her fellow coloured s will keep their mouths shut. A few south africans have had these moments, and drop the coloured nonsense. A prime example would be trevor Noah, whocalls out WS and agknowledges blackness and the bufferclass concept.
trevor noah is not coloured and never claimed coloured

he has a black south african mom and swizz dad

do you have any other examples of the facade falling?

In the Silver Lining
Maybe I’m biased because I saw Tyla during her infant stage before she blew up. Water put her on a global map but that wasn’t her biggest single starting Out. I remember when she was putting out teeny boppers in 2019

Fair enough.

I'm not talking about her per se.

Nor am I bushwacking Non-Black African Audiences.

I'm just giving you the play as I see it from these Global Conglomerates.

I'm talking about the Global Conglomerate that wants to use her phenotype and essence  to sell AfroBeats/Amapiano/Etc to Non-Black African Audiences.

She is the Darling they want Non-Black African Audiences to think of when hearing AfroBeats. They want her as the Marquee Female AfroBeats artist that's all.

Wont really fly, Africa too Black for that to happen..theyd have to send her to London or NY where such is tolerated. If anything she'd have to stick to traditional pop music. Afro Beats and Amapiano is too congested for her to find breathing room. But you could be right, not disputing.

when did she say she hated Black people the hell lol shes fraking Black just not in Africa where they call people with mixed back grounds "colored", "mulatto", and "mix" unlike in the US and Canada most light skinned Black people are not seen as Black in every Black culture if you folloed her before she was doing music you would see she knows shes Black but in Africa a colored person saying they are Black is a disrespect and something not accepted by Black South Africans i see a lot of Americans dont get that unless you were talking about men cause thats something else that they say and um lol
