For the record company trying to sell AfroBeats to Non-Black African audiences.

She's cool and not taking anything from her, but AfroBeats is very....well.....Beautifully Black.....and that is just to much Black for these Global Conglomerates trying to as per usual Culture Vulture their way into this music.. . They need an Eminem/Elvis type, but in this case, an South Asian Black phenotype will work. Indians love Afrobeat.

:unimpressed:
This threads proves none of you know what you're talking about

1. They dont have to sell anything to anyone plus South Africa has number of non-black artist that do SA music (RIP Costa Titch)
2. Tyla isn't an afrobeats artists, again thecoli has proven time again that you nikkas are as ignorant to the world as ever. Does Tyla do African music, Yes. Is she an afrobeats artist, No.
3. Afrobeats is not the only Genre of African music, what you should be saying is African Music a lot artist now outside the Big 4/5 aren't even doing Afrobeats.
4. Is Tyla being propped up as Token non-black within the African Music industry as you say, possibly but only time can tell

I recognize there are multiple African music genres, but Billboards Afrobeat section puts it all under one label.

I get it.

#5 Is 100%. History is the Greatest Teacher. "Water" was cool, but it's her phenotype that was pushed to make it a global hit. That's fine. She beautiful, but this is business and these Culture Vultures think 4 steps ahead. Already trying to figure out what movie they want to place her in....

Maybe I’m biased because I saw Tyla during her infant stage before she blew up. Water put her on a global map but that wasn’t her biggest single starting Out. I remember when she was putting out teeny boppers in 2019
